Best Gravity Water Filters

Best counter top gravity water filters

Gravity water filters are an economical way to get great tasting cleaning water.  These systems do not require electricity and can be used in a variety of circumstances. Some systems like Berkey and Propur can even be used in emergency situations where water may be contaminated.  I have reviewed my favorite gravity water filter systems below.

Big Berkey – Best Gravity Water Filter System

The Big Berkey is one of the best gravity water filters that you can buy. This system is my favorite and the one that I use in my home every day. It is very easy to install and does not require any electricity. Berkey has several sizes to chose from. The Big Berkey is perfect for our family of two. But I think it could work for a family of 3-4 also. For larger families, I would try one of their larger models.

The Big Berkey filters 3.5 gallons of water an hour which is very fast, I never feel like I’m having to wait a long time for water. It is great for both home, outdoor, emergency and travel use. Both treated and untreated water can be purified with their long-lasting filters. Harmful chemicals, bacteria, and parasites can be removed giving great tasting clean drinking water. Big Berkey Gravity Water Filter

Berkey is known for making raw water, like pond water, drinkable which means it can be used for emergency situations. You could use this system while vacationing in the RV, for outdoor activities or when traveling to areas that have unsuitable water.
